Sample MD755 Motion Sensor Presentation

Click here to download a sample presentation for use with Marchetti Engineering's MD755 motion sensor. Unzip the file "md755-demo.zip" and copy the files to a supported flash card. Restart your BrightSign unit. Upon detecting motion, the content will change from the static JPG to a motion video and resets. The GPIO event was configured for button # 0 using BrightAuthor's interactive presentation mode.

Test Patterns

These downloads can help you test and calibrate your display. The clips are formatted exclusively for the Denon DN-V755 Digital Messaging System and may not work with other systems.

Countdown

This short clip features a simple countdown  that helps you judge how well your widescreen (16:9) display looks. On playback, the circle in the center of the screen should not appear grossly elliptical (like a football). If it does, your display is probably set to full screen (4:3) aspect ratio. The clip also contains stereo audio sampled at 44.1khx@128kbs.  (Zip File)

Bars and Tone

Bars and tone are commonly used by video and broadcast professionals to calibrate a monitor's brightness, contrast, hue, and phase. Denon DN-V755 owners can also use bars and tone to adjust the values of basic colors and brightness to a standardized color palette as set forth by SMPTE ( the Society of Motion Pictures and Television Engineers). The clip also outputs a 1khz reference tone helpful in adjusting external amplifier levels. (Zip File)

Remote Control

Please refer to the DN-V755 User Guide for details on how to set up your unit inside of your Local Area Network (LAN).

As an Intellisign customer, we can provide support, give demos, and  transfer content to and from your DN-V755 directly from our facility. Before doing so, your network must allow outside computers to connect to your network. There are several ways to implement a remote connection:

    • Remote Access Server
    • VPN (Virtual Private Network)
    • A Direct IP connection

This method explains how to establish a direct IP connection. Be sure to consult with your company's Network Administrator before attempting this procedure.

The Denon DN-V755 can be controlled from a remote location, across a TCPIP network. By default, the unit is configured for DHCP and will requests an IP address from the ISP (Internet Service Provider) upon initialization. See Fig. 1. You can display this assigned IP via "Info" using the front panel of the unit. This assigned IP now becomes the address  through which the browser application may be accessed.

Power-Up Sequence. Start by powering down both modem and DN-V755. Next bring the modem back online, followed by turning on the V755. The panel indicator lights will flicker as the unit resolves an IP address. When we checked ours, the IP was 24.63.77.xxx. Yours will be different.

Once you've established an IP, it can be used to establish a remote connection via the internet. From your browser's URL address line, type in the dynamically assigned IP followed by "/index.htm". See Fig 2. This will launch the Denon application and allow you to control playlist, manage content etc.

External Triggers

The DN-V755 can be controlled via an optional DB25 (parallel connector) accessory cable:

Intellisign PN ME-V755AIC

Note that this cable does not connect to a computers parallel port. Instead, the cable interfaces with an optional switch bank:

 Intellisign PN ME-V755-SW

With these accessories, the user can trigger pre-selected playlist items by pushing certain buttons on the switch bank. This allows your customer to interact with the content being displayed. A good example would be a shopping mall directory, where the initial content is a view of the entire mall.  By pressing a predetermined switch, the display changes to a close-up map of a particular area of the mall.

Viewing Remote Content

Once you have established a remote connection to the DN-V755, you will have access to each folder stored on it's internal HDD. Content that is uploaded to the unit should be placed in the /CONTENT folder, as prescribed by the DN-V755 Owners Manual. Accordingly, all content placed in this folder will be listed in the application's Media Browser window.

From there, you can preview clips by clicking on the information icon:

Unfortunately, if you are controlling the unit remotely, and there is no monitor within view, you will not see the content that is being played. One solution to previewing content at your site, is simply to use Windows Media  or Divx Player to view the AVI's on your PC. For the Windows Player, you'll need to get the appropriate plug-in.

Please excuse us while we update this area.
